What Can Make The Lowest Auto Insurance Quote A Bad Deal?

By Chimpuriche Chihunrumnanya

We encourage people to do extensive comparison shopping because they can actually find quotes that are dirt cheap. However, there are things that make a quote a good deal. If they are missing, then you've bought trash no matter how low an amount you paid. Let's look at some of them...

1. What's the company's rating? Unless you do NOT ever intend to make a claim even if you need it, you'll need an insurer that will treat your claims promptly. Some companies that offer rates that are too low sometimes have unimaginable hurdles you must cross before you can get your compensation.

Too many complaints against an insurer is a bad sign. Although all insurers have some complaints against them; run, if the ratio of complaints is too high -- Moreso if many of them are unresolved. Also check at how quickly each case was resolved.

And to avoid been a victim of insurance fraud, ensure you're buying from a licensed insurance company. Every state deparment of insurance has a record of every insurer that is licensed to sell auto insurance in the state.

2. A very low quote could mean that a policy has very high deductibles. Although this is fine if you have a very old car, you may need to reconsider your position if yours is a new car. Remember the law requires that you contribute this amount if you file a claim.

3. What's their forgiveness period? Traffic violations and accidents are usually cleared off a policyholder's record after a given number of years. What's it for this insurer. This should be of particular interest to you if you don't have a very great driving record.

How does this policy check against the things we've listed above? If the policy does fine against all these then you have a great quote.

But do make sure you understand the details of your auto insurance policy before you sign the dotted lines.

Now is time to put what you've learnt into practice and save yourself hundreds or, maybe, a few thousand dollars. Obtain auto insurance quotes from these reputable sites.
