Money Saving Tips in iBiza

By Julie Peters

Here's how you can save money on your iBiza holiday

If you're off to iBiza for your holidays this Summer take these tips to make your money stretch a little further.

1. If you are prepared to buy now and snap up a bargain on you flight, car hire or hotel room then book online. Online travel arrangements can save you a lot of money. You compare the prices of the flight, car rental or boat charter and decide which is best for you.

2. Eat like a local - ask a local to recommend a good value place to eat. A lot of the tourist restaurants are just designed to take your money. One of the main costs of a holiday is eating out. When you eat like a local you also get a real sense of the iBiza flavour. There are a lot of set meal caf's on the island where for only a few Euros you can get a bottle of wine and a three course meal - ask around.

3. Rent a flat or villa instead of a hotel room - This is going to save you pounds. A big group can get a luxury villa for a fraction of what it would cost them all to stay in hotels. iBiza is full of people who want to rent you there property. Check them out on the internet. If you are living in a flat or a villa you can also save pounds by going to a big supermarket and cooking for yourself. Stay away from the tourist grocery stores though.

4. Take Public Transit instead of Renting a Car- Even though you might find the train schedules or bus schedules intimidating at first often the locals are happy to help a confused tourist figure out how to get where they want to go using the train or local buses. You can save a lot of money in car rental fees and parking fees by using local public transportation or taxis to get where you want to go in Ibiza instead of renting a car.

5. Stop at a Local Market for Snacks and Drinks - When you're out exploring Ibiza you will get hungry and thirsty. Most resorts and hotels charge a lot of money for meals and drinks, especially alcoholic drinks. So if you're going to be out enjoying the many activities that Ibiza has to offer stop at a local market and pick up some bottled water and other drinks and some snacks. You can save a lot of money by buying beverages and snacks ahead of time so that you don't have to pay high prices for them later on at a resort or attraction.
