Questions and Answers About SUV Covers

By F. Jane Green

Whether you vacation, take extended trips away from home, or plan to use a smaller vehicle instead of a gas guzzling SUV because of high gas prices right now, one of your immediate considerations should be for the care and protection of your vehicles whether you are away or not using them.

When looking for a quality best car cover, remember not all outdoor car covers are the same. They can range from a loose fitting tarp, which isn't very good, to higher quality semi and custom car covers.

Let's look at your SUV for example. Unless you have it parked under a roof for protection, all kinds of nasty things can happen to it in the course of time. UV rays from the sun can damage the finish and interior, bird droppings and bug splats can play havoc with the paint, wind storms can cause nicks and dents on the top and sides of your vehicle causing an unsightly look. Whew!

As more and more people are parking their SUVs, many of the car cover companies are seeing better than average sales of SUV covers despite increasing gasoline prices. One of the reasons is that customers are covering large SUVs with a SUV cover for the purpose of storing them until gas prices decrease.

Since used SUVs are harder to sell right now, people are trying to retain their vehicle's value while protecting the exterior from mother nature. The sale of car covers, truck covers, and SUV covers have increased in tandem with the increase of gas prices.

SUV covers do more than just cover your vehicle, you need to ask what are your needs and what kind of climate do I live in?

*Do I need protection from harmful UV rays? If you live in an intense sun area like Arizona you need a SUV car cover offering the maximum protection from the sun.

*Do I live in an area where dampness and rain are a issue? Then a good 100% waterproof car cover would do the trick in keeping your vehicle dry.

*Is snow protection what I need? Maybe the breathable car cover is the answer to allow protection against winter rust and rain.

The right SUV cover can provide extra layers of protection against things that bump against a parked vehicle or fall from a tree like a limb or branch.

If you are looking for a truck cover, car cover, or simple a SUV cover for your parked gas guzzler, buy car covers for the quality they can provide in the protection of your vehicles whether they are temporarily parked or not in use.
